After finishing the latest book in the series: Disbelief

What? The next book doesn’t come out until June of next year??!? How am I supposed to wait that long? How am I supposed to read a fantastic book and not immediately be able to find out what happens?

Partial acceptance

Okay, fine, it’s fine. I’ll just distract myself with other more mediocre books; that will work, right?

Realization of imminent failure

Hah, who am I kidding, I need this book right now.

2 months before the book release: Intense anger at the author

Okay, why did you need so much time to write this dang book? HOLY COW, you did NOT just delay the release ANOTHER MONTH? It’s like you love to torture us.

A few weeks before release: Ultimate Readiness/Feelings of doubt begin to creep in

uh-oh-gif

I’m so ready. The book is pre-ordered and should arrive at my door like, the minute it is released. But…what if it’s not as good as I think it will be? What if I hate it and the last year has all been for nothing?

The day before: Anticipation

My entire calendar is booked out, ain’t nobody going to bother me for the next few days. I’m ready for all the feels.

The day of: Everyone go away.

What have I done? What year is it?

So, do you relate to my stages? What books have made you feel all the feels? I’m always looking for a new book to destroy my emotions so comment away! 🙂

Ha ha. This sounds terrible! I’m always so far behind in my TBR that by the time I start a series, the whole thing is out. I just never realized there was an upside to being so behind!
